DescriptionThe Sycopel Microdialysis Biosensor Driver is specifically designed for driving the Sycopel Microdialysis Biosensor. It is a cost effective solution for driving and taking measurements from these sensors. It employs low noise sensitive circuitry to achieve low current measurements while holding the working electrode at a stable fixed potential. Connections between the driver and the biosensor are made using the screened cable assembly supplied with the unit. This enables the biosensor to be connected to the driver for immediate use. An output socket is provided which is normally connected to a chart recorder or other data recording system to form a permanent record. |

ControlsControls are straightforward with only three possible adjustments. Range (gain) - A front switch selects one of four gain ranges, 1 nA/V to 1 µA/V. Readings of current or current minus offset are provided on an integral panel meter, these readings of current being measured are expressed as a voltage. The panel meter will read a maximum of 2V, this is equivalent to full scale ranges of 2nA, 20nA, 200nA, and 2µA. Note that there is double the above full scale ranges available at the output socket if required, or if an experiment unexpectedly exceeds the range of the integral voltmeter, enabling continuation with a chart recorder without having to change ranges and/or offset setting. Offset Adjust - When measuring small changes in current riding on a higher value of background current it is useful to be able to offset the background current thereby enabling the selection of higher gains giving increased resolution. This is accomplished using the offset adjust. Offset adjust is set using a multiturn potentiometer and read on a integral independent panel meter. The panel meter will read a maximum of -2V offset voltage full scale. Note that there is double (-4V) the panel meter full scale voltage available for offsetting if required, this can be read off an additional graduated scale. This offset will also appear at the output socket if the offset is switched In. Offset In/Out - The offset switch allows the user to switch offset In or Out. With the switch set to the In position any offset displayed on the offset panel meter will be subtracted from the current reading panel meter and output at the output socket. With the switch set to the Out position the offset setting is still displayed on the offset panel meter but no offset voltage is applied to the current reading panel meter or to the output at the output socket. |
